The theatre’s original balconies were removed in 1952. The balconies were reinstated to the intent of the original design with the inclusion of contemporary services and amenities. The new balconies reinstate a patron experience lost for over 70 years and increase the opportunities for the theatre to engage with the city. The theatre has regained its civic presence and presentation.

The project succeeds in reinstating the original design intent whilst adding contemporary services further enhancing their amenity. The balconies bring the stage to the street.
